Attention to detail is worthy of a five-star resort
Every so often a special guest makes special comments. Sally May Mills is one of those special guests. Her words are shared below. Thanks, Sally
A heart-felt TerimaKasi to everyone at the Retreat for the gift you have given Bali, and the world – a haven of gentle silence, comfort and community. I’d like to share my experience and assessment of Bali Silent Retreat: The attention to detail is worthy of a five-star resort.
The thoughtful welcome pack anticipating our every need; the unique sarongs for each guest were like textile hangings; oh, and a down feather pillow – what an unexpected and thrilling find.
- The spaces you have created within, and between the buildings are a pleasure to explore, to sit and to ‘just be’.
- The gardens are an inspiration, and educational – thank you for replacing the labels in the medicine herb garden. Living in the tropics for so long, I found the single perfect red rose near the tea room had me transfixed.
- To the kitchen team of talented chefs: wow! Enak sekali (very delicious). As a vegan I am always grateful to have such a selection of fresh and delicious food, although I’m certainly not getting any leaner, with food like this – smiles. Fresh made Granola with fresh fruit and coconut yogurt – I’m moving in! Amazing! Sourdough bread is delicious.
- I thoroughly enjoyed the scheduled classes and sessions, in particular the yoga with Elena one of the volunteers. Experiencing my first labyrinth walk was very moving.
Thank you also to the smiling reception staff; warm and gentle at any time of the day.
I look forward to returning many times in the future and guiding others to experience the peace that you have created and lovingly nurture.
This stay was a gift to myself for my 40th birthday and it is with deep gratitude I say goodbye and sampai jumpa lagi (I’ll see you again).
May all beings be happy and at peace.
